Suhadee (Su) Henriquez, LCSW, is a multicultural, bilingual multi-state Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist as well as a retired commercial airline Flight Attendant. Her unique set of scientifically  optimize and validated therapeutic approaches will enhance your life-long wellness.

Su is considered an expert in her field, and has been invited to speak on panels and provide lectures globally, providing guidance to colleagues, and new insights to the psychotherapy community.

Suhadee (Su) Henriquez, is a bilingual, multi-state Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Psychotherapist with a focused expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), for adolescents, adults, families and couples.

Suhadee (Su) is a Diplomat of the Academy of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and was intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a treatment that combines standard cognitive-behavioral techniques for emotion regulation and reality-testing with concepts of distress tolerance, acceptance, and mindful awareness.

Considered an expert in her field, Su has been invited to speak on panels and provide lectures globally, providing guidance to colleagues, and new insights to the psychotherapy community.

As a retired commercial airline Flight Attendant with over 24 years of global flying experience, the study of and interaction with different human behaviors has been at the center of Su’s work. Encountering hundreds of people daily, in a wide range of diverse, multicultural populations, Su always found that her passengers gravitated towards finding a connection with her, and that she had an instinct for their vulnerabilities and fears.

While simultaneously remaining in the airline industry, In 2007 Su pursued her education in Psychotherapy and obtained her license as a Clinical Social Worker. In 2013, Su created Multicultural CBT/DBT, a private psychotherapy practice founded in New York City, centered around her specialized approach to behavioral therapy. With her commercial airline experience, Su also founded ‘The Flying Psychotherapist,’ a practice dedicated to helping individuals and families overcome their fear of flying.

Being a woman of color, growing up in an under-privileged community has allowed Suhadee (Su) to relate to a diverse patient base, and has extensive expertise in helping those with relationship difficulties, substance abuse, addiction and recovery, perfectionism, procrastination, imposter syndrome, eating disorder, suicidal and non-suicidal self-injurious behaviors.

Suhadee (Su) works with many individuals and families from multicultural backgrounds and under-privileged communities, the LGBT community and *BIPOC. Suhadee (Su) also has a special therapy focus on c-level executives who are experiencing anxiety, depression disorders, mood disorders, and personality disorders.  This tends to include attorneys, doctors, hedge fund managers, and finance executives. The acronym (BIPOC) stands for “Black, Indigenous and People of Color.”

In addition to her specialized training in CBT and DBT, Suhadee (Su) has been directly trained by Dr. Edna Foa, the architect and creator of Prolonged Exposure (PE), an evidenced based treatment model for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), as well as Melanie Harned, Ph.D, creator of DBT for PTSD. In addition, Suhadee (Su) is experienced in providing Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP) for chronic depression, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Family Connections and life skills (addressing problems associated with life stages, e.g. career, college, etc.).
